I don't like to call it an offensive. An offensive is usually a massive movement, a big arrow on the map, a huge concentration of force to attempt to rapidly break the enemy. It was "grinding as usual", slow and careful. No big bluff, no gambling. Now so many key cities are threatened : Pokrovsk, Kostiantinivka, Siversk, Lyman, Koupiansk. Not big cities but important in this war. So, that's good grinding, but not an actual attempt to finish off the enemy.

They approch every forteress city and bessieged them, I think they will take Pokrovsk, Siversk and Koupiansk during december or January and then 2026 will be a conclusive year.

Collapsing the Kursk offensive was a big win for them this year.

Considering that they fight the whole of Europe and the US and they advance...I really cannot see it as anything other than a success.

One needs to remember that they're not fighting Ukraine. They're fighting the West using Ukrainians and mercenaries. Funded by 51 countries. I personally hate war and want peace. Warfare has changed forever, and with technology today, drones, robots, etc, no army can roll up the enemy easily. Had this been a war between Ukraine and Russia, it would've been over a very long time ago, with much less death.

Multiple caudrons along the front, with most of the cross road cities under direct fire. Looks like the russian too the saying "Slow and steady wins the race." To heart.

None of this. There wasn't any Russian "summer offensive", this term is made up by western media and so-called military analysts, who doesn't have a clue how Russian strategic military planning works.

It's all about attrition, Russia has no deadline, and they see Ukraine is running low on manpower. Russia is in no hurry to take territory because as they wear the Ukrainian army out, the territory will come by itself. Keep working brothers!

inconclusive with a hint of success here and there. basically tactical successes but yet no stratigical ones

"There was no "Summer Offensive", only usual tactical attacks and steady grind through ukrops" variant.

they are deep inside pokrovsk, myrnohrad and kupyans while reaching the outskirts of kostyantinivka

Everyone expects Russia to take a million miles a year. Russia don't work this way they truly do not care if it takes a year or a decade they know in the end they will win. The summer was a great move for Russia maybe not in just mileage. When one looks to the number of missiles bomb and other attacks like drones, Russia has greatly improved by amount and quality of attacks. Also there even hitting the west side of Ukraine at will. This was unheard of just a year or so ago. Also all the countries supporting Ukraine have there own issues and are growing tired of the green T-shirts Santa's list of needs. While Russia is pumping out military equipment at a rate that's very impressive. Love you show bro watch it every chance I get.

They did make the Ukranians call a bunch of cities "not strategically important" so there is that

I do not belive the casualty. Simply is an offence to logic. Ukraine should be able to mobilise a several million soldiers to the army. Even if there are 800,000 young who left the country that still leave a few millions available. Now even 60 years old are called in. This remind more a volkssturm, an absolute shortage of soldiers. The constructed trenches with no soldiers confirm that. There is missing a couple of millions. This also indicates the Russian objective of demilitarisation of Ukraine and their focus on killing not territory (territory is not an objective for the Russians). Add the substantial advantage of Russians in everything. Simply it is an abuse of logic to tell that the ratio is close to 1. More like 10:1 or more. The swap of bodies suggests very high ratio. You need to test your sources, not just blindly accept them.

When you consider that they went from threatening 1 city to threatening 3 cities at the same time, yeah that was sucess, even if they will get the fruits of that latter

depends on what they were trying to achieve. seems like it was just a continuation of what they were doing in spring

You’re the main one I expected to point out that surge they had after Trump cut aid to Ukraine. They gained a lot of ground just in that one week.

Artichoke tactic, Russia is taking small slivers of land at a time. Time is what they are counting on as their biggest advantage.
