As an artist myself who can’t work in metal but works in other mediums I find his work truly amazing, very light and uplifting for something created in such a heavy material! Which says something to his work and ability to speak through this material in a way I haven’t seen many other 20 year olds can! Metal work now says is not as creative as it was or as it can be! I think your son could really push his creativity Lori and if he hasn’t thought of going to a (I’m hoping to term this part right because I’m from Australia so here it’s university) collage for fine arts he definitely should think about it! He has the talent! Strive for what he is passionate about and his work definitely shows passion!

My husband does this type of art as well. I like the way he did the texture on the individual leaves. They are not all uniform and that definitely adds to the beauty and movement of the whole flower.. It's a wonderful piece. Make sure he signs all of his art! It may be collectable one day!
