I went with the RME Raydat (48ins/outs). It’s just an interface that lets you include nothing but analog gear. Rme Raydat: connections: - Ferrofish pulse 16 for rack gear (16ins/outs) - I have a stereo out going to my monitor controller from the Ferrofish. - cranborne 500adat for 500 series stuff - with plenty of room left. It’s perfect if you want a digital hub with analog hybrid.everything syncs perfectly with the Rme clock

I have an apogee symphony desktop, which i love. I bought the HD 4 as a secondary inteface and returned it because my mixes were sounding harsh. I got the RME adi-2 pro instead, which is considered top-notch. The RME was also making my mixes harsh. I came to the conclusion that both of those units were just a lot more revealing.

Im a little hesitant about that over the MOTU I don't see it I guess (don't see how it beats the Motu 16A etc)
