After the story of adidon and not like us, he kinda has a point

I mean, he got a point. After 50 cent made that insanely crafted diss track towards rick ross which outed him out as a former correctional officer, but still had a rap career, thats when i felt like diss tracks dont hold much if at all, any weight, any longer.

As much as I love Push, the only place they held weight was when Pac got killed for it. Everyone likes to bring up Ja's case, but not only is that an exception, it was a multitude of things that caused his downfall. Em and 50 we're just stomping on him while he was going down. Hov was still huge after Ether. Biggie is still considered THE legend after Hit Em Up, Dre is still a huge presence even after No Vaseline and Real Muthafuckin Gs. Even 50 got slapped sideways by Jada and did not skip a stride. Diss Tracks "damaging credibility" is just what people like to think to make themselves feel better for being so invested in something, when it's just nothing.

He is right. Back in the day if you lost in a rap beef you would lose your cultural relevance (ex. Canibus vs LL Cool J), or at the very least your street credibility (Jay-Z vs Nas). Nowadays all that results from a beef is a boost in streams for both parties involved

Yall can't read he doesn't say he's above diss tracks now he said there's no point because of mfs online spinning narratives even if you win you can lose by one dumb mf opinion that catches fire now every follower agreeing to cap

Diss tracks never usually ended rappers career when you think about it. Itās been a consensus ll lost a few times but still had a career, most people say Jay lost to nas, nwa (dr dre) lost to ice cube, gucci lost to jeezy, 50 lost to Jada, the list goes on but most of them still had a career after.

I agree but I'm sure that with enough hate you can end everyone's career

Iām so glad he was able to clear up his opinion on diss tracks after shamelessly using Travisā personal life in a diss track and his posse cut album drop date to promote the Clipse album. You expect us to believe that shit was not intentional after waiting 2 years, we heard about the album in 2023, but radio static for that diss track. I canāt really respect too many og rappers post-2020 it seems, they fold on those āprinciplesā they used to have way too much

Hes right unfortunately, disses dont leave much damage anymore

The only person that REALLY ended careers with diss tracks was Em and thatās majorly it to be quite honest.

Beefing can't carry someone's career for long. For example if you're a star like Drake people still anticipate your new music.

They gotta keep making diss tracks though when needed. Donāt let the competitive nature of the sport die

Pusha T said that diss tracks are "dead to him" and that they no longer "hold the same weight" šØ
"Back in the day, to me, I felt like it could be career ending. Now itās not ā it doesnāt hold as much weight. You still get another shot at it, it seems like."
āIt's kind of dead to me. It's the ransom of what a diss track used to bring: There was a clear winner. Somebody would really bow out and then thatās it ā the last man standing. Now itās just a whole bunch of noise. Even after we find winners, itās still noise. And itās like, man, then what's it for"
