The sad part about President Arthur is that even though he is widely forgotten, he did do a lot of good when he was in office. He fought for civil rights, he ended the patronage system, and deposed one of the most corrupt government officials in the country. He deserves better.

Here in the Netherlands we do remember Van Buren as he was 'one of our own'. Still the only US President who didn't speak English as a first language; the man spoke Dutch.
