She STOLE the theory. I liked Mel and the book will no doubt help people and for that I’m glad but her inability to credit the creator is gross.

I hope you ask her why she’s not giving credit to Maya Angelou for her “let them” craze. Give credit where credit is due! #inauthentic

@LysaKelly-e6q

She has reframed a practice that has existed for a long time. It is not a theory she has proposed. What Robbin’s has done is brand it and sold it to a new audience, so that’s not bad thing, but I hope she credits Maya Angelou for literally lifting ‘Let Them’ as well Cassie Phillips’ poem as well as Buddhism and Al Anon and Codependency Anonymous.

I won’t be listening to this one! Can’t stand the inauthentic response of this woman. It’s gross!

@seasonallyaffected

Those accusing her of thieving need to read some Buddhist philosophy on attachment. It’s not new, it’s just reframed. Get over it and stop hating and judging people.

Almost every self help book is just repurposing age old concepts found in religion, philosophy and from great thinkers of the past…you can’t say she stole this from someone who lived in the past 100 years when these ideas have been going around for centuries. If her reframing is helping people then LET IT (👀😂

I think believing because someone was the first to have the idea means they own it is immature. Once an idea is out in the open its available for everyone to use. Who came up with the idea first is irrelevant.

Only God has any real power. As usual the ego appropriates.
