"Sweat and Smile " ---- Jishnu Baruah

I'd like to share my fitness journey, which began with physical exercise classes at my school Shankardev Vidya Niketan,Hengrabari. I learned various techniques like Pranayam, Ashan, and Cardio Activities from our respected teachers under the incharge of Rameswar Thakuria sir . Although I didn't continue these activities regularly after school, I recently refocused on physical fitness.

During my college days at Gauhati Commerec College , I prioritized music, but my health and body shape suffered due to a lack of fitness training. I'd often go for walks in the hilly area around my home and occasional evening walks with friends. After completing my postgraduate studies, I started concentrating on physical fitness again, beginning with morning walks and running with my neighbour Jintu.

I'm also inspired by my experience as a Rover Scout Leader trainee at Gauhati Commerce College held in from 13/07/ 2019 to 19/07/ 2019 under the guidance of Amarendra Talukder Sir. I learned about various exercises and the importance of punctuality alongside friends like Harjyoti Kalita, Bhaskar, Amarjyoti, and others.

A significant change I made was adjusting my meal schedule. Initially, I had three meals a day but since 2015, I've been having two meals a day, at 8 am and 6 pm, due to my father's job schedule at police services . This schedule has proven beneficial for my health.

In 2022, I joined a gym called ABD with trainer Prantu. Later, I switched to ABD Nabajyoti Nagar and then to Muscle Menia, where I'm currently training with my friend Bitul and personal trainer D. L. Swargiary.

Prior to joining ABD, I began with informal gym sessions at Kamles' home during the COVID-19 lockdown, which helped me get started with my fitness journey.

My daily routine consists of waking up at 5 am, going to the gym from 5:30 am to 7 am, followed by a protein shake and a rice meal at 8 am. I have a light meal in the afternoon and another rice meal at 6 pm, except the non veg on Thursdays and Mondays. I wind up by sleeping around 11/12 pm.

"My key takeaways are that prioritizing good food, regular workouts, and adequate rest is crucial. Additionally, I believe that good music and books can contribute to internal well-being, and having a small friend circle for sharing thoughts can be beneficial. Nurturing a spiritual connection is also essential for overall well-being."
