Science Magazine
This fish hides in the shadows of a shark in order to ambush its prey. Researchers documented this behavior near Italy's Lampione Island. They found that prey species have a harder time detecting the predatory fish, called a blue runner (Caranx crysos), when it is shielded by the shark. It's unclear whether the behavior increases predation success or if the fish puts itself at risk by associating with the shark.
