Btw I just found out that this policy is only happening in the US so if you don’t live in the US then the policy won’t effect you (idk if you live in the US or not I just wanted to say this)

I very much hate that this is happening! I’m so worried about not being able to see most of my favorite content creators because of this new policy!! And I’m also worried about the effects it will have on my channel! 😔

is this only happening in the US? if it is, cant we all technically just use a vpn??? i have no clue how vpns work so im asking to see if its WORTH buying a vpn to bypass this rule because i am NOT giving shit to youtube.

Regarding YouTube's new policy on age restriction:
Hello everyone! I know now many of you will see this post, but if you do I encourage you to interact with it in some way in order to boost it to my other subscribers.
YouTube is rolling out a new policy on [I believe] August 13, and from that point on will be using an AI bot in order to flag down accounts that it believes to be under the age of 18. If the bot determines that you are under 18, you will be given restrictions on what you can and cannot do on YouTube.
Now, what does this have to do with me? I personally do not want to give any more information to any service whether that be Google, YouTube, or other, so if my account is flagged, I will likely face restrictions on my account unless I verify with YouTube that I am indeed over 18 by providing either my ID, credit card, or a picture of my face, and as we know, Google has already had a breach in which over 16 million passwords got leaked. This, along with many other reasons is part of why I will not be sticking around to see this moderation take place.
All of this is to say, that I will likely not be posting any animations for a good while, and if I do, they will be going up on my BlueSky, Tumblr, and even in my discord server instead of YouTube for the time being. [Both of my accounts plus the discord server are linked at the bottom of this post]
Again, it would be greatly appreciated if you interacted with this post whether that be liking, commenting, or sharing in order to boost it so as many people are aware as possible.
I have to hope that YouTube will change it's policy and remove the bot, but I'm unsure when or IF that will ever happen.
