It's hard to make a top list when there's so much good music in games, but these are probably the most memorable ones: 1. "Gherman the First Hunter" from Bloodborne (masterpiece) 2. "Theme of Laura" from Silent Hill 2 (bonus: "Reprise" is awesome too) 3. "Gwyn, Lord of Cinder" from Dark Souls 1. 4. "The Fields of Ard Skellig" from Witcher 3. 5. "Nine Blades" from Baldur’s Gate 3. Bonus: “The Last of Us Main Theme" from well… The Last of Us. Just love the way guitar minor notes are used here.

Edit:forgot one track from YU-NO Going to highlight 2 of my fav: 1 - YU-NO (PC-98) - by the late Ryu Umemoto, he was often compared to Yuzo Koshiro (of Streets of rage fame) and is easily one of the best soundtracks in 90s. Umemoto was a practitioner of Zen Buddhism and in a interview he commented that at the time when working on YU-NO he used some mathematical patterns and symbolic elements that reflect his faith on the composition itself, which is a interesting approach. Bit of a shame that he kinda soft-retire at his peak, would take some years before he started to compose for games again. (Standout tracks: 'Girl' , 'Fate (version B) , 'Movement 1 (Prologue・Indoor Movement)' , 'Movement 2', 'Departure' and one of his best tracks 'Different World 1') 2 - Xenogears by Yasunori Mitsuda, smack between his works on Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, while is a relative short soundtrack (specially for a long JRPG) every track feels very distint, interesting enough because of the heavy religious theme in the game, alot of the songs reflect that, I feel that this soundtrack defined Mitsuda style for many year to come. (Standout tracks: 'Dark Dawn' , 'Where Dreams Hatch' , 'Intangible Treasure' , 'October Mermaid' , 'Shevat The Wind Calls ' , 'Earthly Tears, Mortal Thoughts' , 'Torn' , 'Foreboding' , 'Awakening' and finally 'Fangs Bared at God' I guess I had a hard time picking the better one for this one)

One OST that never gets any attention is Celeste Strawberry Jam OST. Strawberry Jam is a Celeste mod and it is extremely, EXTREMELY underrated. It has a ton of great tracks, my personal favorite being Flying Lanterns

Turrican 2 has the greatest game music ever made in my opinion. Chris Huelsbeck. I also like the music in Superfrog, Cannon Fodder and Mortal Kombat (movie soundtrack).

Nier Automata/Replicant FFVII Earthbound on SNES (they really maxed out the sound chip on this one) Zelda Ocarina of Time/A Link to the Past Donkey Kong Country 2 That would be it for me :)

1) We lost from expedition 33 2) Une vie taimer from expedition 33 3) Blood upon snow from God of War Ragnarok (I think most music of this game is just in-game, but this OST can be listened to casually.) 4) Portrait imparfait from expedition 33 5) Tisser la beauté from expedition 33 Yes, 4 of 5 are from expedition because most games use music just for atmosphere. People say Nier's music is top with expedition, but I haven't played it yet. So, that's my list :D

1) Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 2) Undertale / Deltarune 3) Hollow Knight 4) The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword 5) Outer Wilds Not including Silksong or E33 because of recency bias, but in the coming years they’ll probably be up there

Nier Autómata Hollow Knight Halo 2 Hades The Witcher 3 Silksong and Expedition 33 are definitely in my top 5, but you already know those, and I don't know which ones to remove to include those two.

Hey, what are your top 5 favourite game music OSTs of all time? I need some tips!
Oh and I finally beat Lace in Silksong, after taking a break playing Ghost of sushi to get my sanity and zen back! Big, thanks for all the tips!
Ps I also beat Forth Chorus right after on round 2. 💪🥳 it was a lot easier to learn that one.
What do you think?
Should we do another live reaction?
Love hearing from ya! 💜🍿🎨
