Signified B Sides

New JID got me thinking. What are some albums the last few years that make you think of this image (probably only understandable for 35 an older)

4 mics specifically? anything Gibbs or WSG have done (maybe Piñata gets a 4.5). They like the definition of 4 mics

GNX, Chromakopia, Alfredo 2 and It's Almost Dry are 4-mic albums to me. The Forever Story, Let God Sort Em Out, Magic, Alive! and Blue Lips are 5-mics. Feel like those WILL go down as classic hip-hop records in the coming decades from those that really know.

Definitely Tyler's CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. As someone who spent years not being able to take him seriously, I couldn't ignore the pure skills as an MC he showed in this album. He's had a run of albums since then that are almost as strong.

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition. Probably the best experimental psychedelic rap album made in recent years that should get more recognition.

Perfect Four Mic album was the last Vince Staples album, which I felt was overlooked. I love how his style has evolved to add more melody into his flow. It's very smooth and pretty, but the content hits hard. Not his best album, but a wonderful evolution.

Pretty much everything Denzel puts out. I don’t know why Denzel Curry isn’t getting the respect he deserves. What more do you want from him?

Doechii Alligator Bites Never Heal. I thought it was great, but it just falls short of that magnum opus that I think is otw. 5 mics would be Mach-Hommy's #richaxxhaitian & billy woods' Aethiopes. And if you haven't checked it out unc, Cavalier from billy woods' label backwoodz studios put out an album called CINE last year. The album does potent sensualism in the most non-toxic way, might make you "find the answer" on how adult media can be liberal but not so corn-like. I would've given 5 mics on that too if wasnt so short.

It’s more on the noise act that conforms to music theory than hip hop, but Gaslight Gatekeep Girlpush by Girlpusher is current AOTY imo.

Blue Lips & Drill Music in Zion were sauced perfectly. I'd also put Daytona and HERBERT in that category as well.
