The Classic Metal Show

🧨 CHRIS HOLMES WAS THE HEART OF W.A.S.P.Blackie was the brain—but Holmes was the attitude.

🎸 Those riffs. That sleaze. That stage presence.

🤘 W.A.S.P. lost its soul when he left.

100% I got to talk to him a little via his wife several years back and he couldn't have been cooler.

In fairness tho, W.A.S.P. has really been that W.A.S.P. since HellDorado. Allegedly the record was only made by Blackie to appease Chris & the fans who wanted a "classic sounding" W.A.S.P. record. Blackie did it. Wasn't feeling it. Got mixed reviews... next thing you know Chris is gone permanently and Blackie's writing about 9/11. Point is, even if they were buds, Chris lived it. He could never fit in with 2025 W.A.S.P. The styles would clash imo. I could never see Blackie & Chris doing today what Don Dokken & George Lynch are doing.

W.A.S.P. has definitely grown. Lyrically,... I know a lot of fans will just say they only did two great albums... And that's unfortunate... I only discovered W.A.S.P. around the time of Dominator, And perfer the last twenty years of Blackie Lawless music. Mike Duda has been with W.A.S.P. about 30 years, Same with Doug Blair, @WASPNATIONOFFICIAL #WASP 🤘 #WASPNATIONOFFICIAL
