Lately I’ve been exploring the south of France for a video I’m working on, and these small French towns are full of medieval mysticism 🏰 and Roman surprises: ancient theaters, amphitheaters, and triumphal arches, all set against the charming backdrop of French cafés ☕️🥖.

From Orange to Saint-Rémy, I’ve run into several of these monumental arches.

It’s remarkable how deeply the French were influenced by their Roman past: you see Roman-inspired constructions scattered all across this region. But Roman triumphal arches have shaped more than just France; their legacy extends across Europe and beyond 🌍.

Let me know in the comments which Roman site in France you’d love to visit! 👇

If you want to dive deeper into the history and meaning of triumphal arches, I talk all about it in my video on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris 🇫🇷, which you can watch right here: https://youtu.be/R8eb_a7gEcs
