A man comes into the hospital looking ok. 12 hours later, he's completely paralyzed. Which one most likely happened to him?

Its such a scary condition, imagine being completely paralyzed but still 100% mentally there, maybe being in intense pain but unable to speak or do anything. Such a nightmarish scenario!

Botulism, it can paralyze your wrinkles or your whole body.

Why would he be in the hospital if he looks ok? This question really threw me off.

How i figured this one out? Botulinum toxin=Botox= facial paralysis. Therefore, botulism must cause paralysis

One of the easier questions lol. I know that botulism paralysis can start at the extremities then progresses along the limbs to the torso and abdomen

Botulism works very fast. The name alone was the only clue needed.

I love the etymology lesson: Chorea from Greek khoros- dance, think "choreograph." I'm not even that much into medical stuff, but I like learning Greek and Latin vocab., particularly as used in English 😁
