Do you watch Shorts? Not mine specifically, just Shorts in general.

If you have a more nuanced answer, please explain in a comment.

I'm curious given the announcement that vertical videos up to 3 minutes in length will count as Shorts starting on October 15th. I'm considering making separate Shorts music videos for my future songs that fall within the 3 minute limit. As in, a proper video that isn't just squishing the horizontal video into a vertical frame.

Regardless, I won't be switching purely to Shorts for songs shorter than 3 minutes. I'm just checking to see how likely people would even see a Shorts version of a music video if I go through the effort of properly making one.

@apt_get

I have heard that Shorts views do not generally translate into genuine “channel” views or fan creation/retention, so that might be something to consider depending on your goals.

When the shorts tab reappears on my homepage after 30 days of being snoozed I occasionally get dragged in, but I generally don't watch them.

Idk, I feel like when I used TikTok more I'd watch longer videos there, but I feel like I wouldn't like watching a whole song in shorts form? Maybe it's the UI, or the fact that there's a more 'concrete' feeling alternative in-app (regular videos) than in TikTok where I might have to search for a re-upload or link to an outside app for the video, so I'm more inclined to watch.
