🎓 Still waiting for the “right time” to start learning? Dr. Karri Ramareddy didn’t. He just completed 11 NPTEL courses—at age 72.

While most people retire at 72, Dr. Karri Ramareddy is just getting started. A veteran psychiatrist, lifelong learner, and the recipient of prestigious honours like the Rashtrapati Award and Dr. B.C. Roy Award, Dr. Ramareddy has now earned 61 academic degrees, including three PhDs and five LLMs—with 11 certifications through NPTEL, offered by premier institutions like IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur.

That’s not all—he’s also topped eight NPTEL courses, achieving Elite Plus Silver and Gold grades, placing him among the best learners in the country.

Born in Rajamahendravaram and raised in the small town of Anaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, his journey—from MBBS at Rangaraya Medical College to MD at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, and beyond—is a masterclass in relentless curiosity.

“As long as you are curious, every day becomes a new opportunity. There is no age limit for learning,” he says. From Law to Yoga to Education, he has pursued knowledge with discipline and heart—studying five hours every day, even in his 70s.

Dr. Ramareddy is now preparing for his next academic pursuit. Because for him, life itself is the classroom. At NPTEL, we’re glad to be a part of this incredible journey.

If his story moved you, share this. Let’s remind the world: Learning has no age limit.
