Lots of stuff will last a while if you treat it right. For example, I do a lot of my work in Duluth jeans. Not super expensive but not the cheapest based on quality. But if I washed them in hot water and threw them in the dryer every time I wore them they would probably last 6 months max. So I generally hang dry everything and wash in cold water and don't do any of that unless they stink. I know plenty of people that could manage to make 1620s a 6 month pant. Ive learned to buy nicer things that last and I now treat all of my clothes accordingly including socks.

Can’t stress this enough! Brunt,Brahma, lugz, ozark trail, even some Irish setter models. They should all be thrown in jail for false advertising and swindling the hard working man or woman purchasing these imposters 😂 If people understood how much more and better you get for a couple more bucks those other brands wouldn’t even exist

Not to worry, Carl. The only person on the jobsite who wears Brunts is the foreman, and he’s not my friend.

Duluth is one that comes to mind, Volcums work shoes aren’t great but I’ve really been enjoying their work pants. 👖 surprisingly good quality. Brunt however is absolutely the worst I can’t say enough bad things about them or anyone who markets for them

Too many fashion brands to name them all. Some are too low quality to be used for work, some are too high quality to be used for work!

Yeah it’s crazy. I do commercial and industrial electrical, I’ve showed brunt wearers the YouTube videos, and they still wear them 🤷 they don’t wanna be save

Controversial take - at the point where workwear- lets say boots - become 3x as expensive as the "common" options for the trades, they start to lose their ground in terms of use. There are ways that i would use a 200$ boot that i wouldn't use a 600$ boot. I think the ability to not worry about getting grease/ oil/mud/paint/solvent on my clothing lets me focus on the task where that might happen better than wearing that fancy boot will last. My clothes are tools and after a 3x increase from what "works" comes, it becomes something I don't want to use unless its the perfect situation rather than another tool in the box. Maybe this is just my relationship with money, but I don't like tools that are too nice to be comfortable using and misusing

I have two pairs of boots for work as well as two for everyday wear. I have a pair of Wolverine i-90 durashock moc-toes as well as a pair of Danner Marine Expeditionary boots. One for rough terrain and one for asphalt and concrete. I have a pair of Origins and Thorogoods moc-toes for regular wear. I can't bring myself to buy those lower end boots. I prefer the quality.

Yeah the shitty walmart junk that a lot of workers end up abusing themselves trying to make work. But also, there’a plenty of fast fashion mimicking work wear aesthetic these days without the construction methods.

I say if you can only afford cheap boots, go with Georgia boots. I'll vouch for their quality, I went through more than one pair back in the day when that's all that my budget allowed. On the other end, I'll never buy another pair of Ariats. Total disappointment for work.

I feel like a lot of Carhartt's stuff is declining in quality, like their t shirts and hoodies. Their serious heavy duty stuff, like the duck bib overalls, are still solid though. Makes me wonder if there's secretly two lines of Carhartt products - one for work, one for fashion.

Which brands simply POSE as workwear rather than actually being used for work? I'll include some of your comments in an upcoming video, so keep it PG-13, ya animals!
