"How To Train Your Kong" ft. Kong and Jia from the Monsterverse!
Hey everybody! Here's a quick photo I've had in the works for a bit now! I wanted to shoot my shot at recreating the beautiful How To Train Your Dragon poster but with King Kong and Jia from the Monsterverse! This one was really fun! I liked messing with the lighting and character materials a lot more, creating Jia and the cliff-side from scratch, and also making a clean-plate from the original HTTYD Poster so that I could re-adjust it and add more space for Kong to actually fit in the frame. I was debating on just making Jia as big as Hiccup was in the poster, but since that wouldn't make too much sense for the Monsterverse I figured I could put her on a cliff-side and just make her really small. Which works because I was struggling trying to figure out how I would add Kaylee Hottle's face to the human model, but it's so small it doesn't really matter. I also added some effects like clouds, godrays, lens flares, dust, film halation, and blurs to get the final effect! Really hoping to get back to animating and figuring out faster workflows for the coming semester! Hope you guys enjoyed this one!
