Columbo did a number on him renting that room, where the commissioner planted the evidence.🤣🤣🤣

Can’t forget Richard Kiley’s two Tony awards and his very distinguished career in theater! Great singer! Don Quixote!

Probably my favorite Columbo episode despite also loving the usual choices. I like the cinematography in the night scenes, slightly grittier tone, and the complex plot. Plus classic performance by Faulk.

I remember Richard Kiley best for his role as Paddy in The Thornbirds (1983). He was the sweet, long-suffering father who lets slip a family secret. Oh, Paddy. I too, had to give piano recitals and it takes months if not years of practice for your fingers to keep playing when your brains and nerves stage a coup. This is THE BEST gotcha. That guy is so smug and so ready to throw anyone and everyone under the bus (not to mention murder people), I love to see him so completely trapped in front of everyone. I love how Columbo maintains his cool throughout, even trying to forestall embarrassment for the guy, and never forgetting that this man holds Columbo's livelihood in his hands.

This is one of my favorite episodes. As always, your deep dives are superb and funny! And 36 is still young. The "embodiment of the 70's" guy reminds me of Uncle Cicero from The Bear.

No sweat Shonna - It gets done when it's done. I'm gardening up a storm here too. In between kayaking trips, I planted an apple tree...hydrangea...rhododendrons...lilac and a rose bush. I'm not counting the hanging strawberries. The squirrels have claimed them...and they're a rough bunch.

Kiley narrated an entire series called “Mysteries of the Bible”, which was fascinating. His voice was great!

That will be very late at night for me. I might or might not still be up. I'll watch it soon, anyway.

Glad it's a Friday...so I can jump right on this. This seemed particularly quick...though my ability to judge the flow of time is very sub-par (really, non-existent).

Hello Shonna - Say, sometime back I watched a video of your chatting to your audience from your home. Think you have done a handful of those. Are those still available to watch and if so I couldn't find a link for them. I think they may be on another "channel" of yours? Can you provide that link if it is available. Thanks 🙂

Just a message about YouTube blocking your most gruesome murders video due to copyright infringement. Frustrating part is your videos probably do more to get people to watch episodes of Columbo whether it’s via Peacock or DVD than any add campaign they have launched in recent memory hang in there thanks for the content

Watch it for Days
Alright! My deep dive of "A Friend in Deed" has had the copyright block released and the premiere is set for 11:30AM (central time). That's in about 70 minutes. Hope to see you there :)
