I've been a bench jeweler for about 2 years now and I think these are the types of things that NEED to be made to keep the creativity alive!

It's a cool idea and people are just terrified of anything outside of their own personal experience.

I thought the creation of the ring was thoughtful and sentimental. This was a common practice in the past. I knew a woman whose dad was also a jeweler. He made a band ring that had a braided lock of her mother's hair. She wore it proudly. At the time I thought it was strange. Now I get it. I have a lock of my late husband's hair and a tooth of his that he lost many years ago. Those are the only organic parts of him that I have and I find it comforting to have something that was part of him.

my mom has a matching gold necklace and earring set, the necklace pendant has my baby teeth and the earrings have my brother’s baby teeth Lol. She loves seeing people’s shocked faces when they ask what type of stones they are and she says they’re teeth 🫣

Is it a little weird, sure. But I can’t help but think that just like how we are fascinated by victorian hair jewelry in modern day, this ring will make some distant descendant or historian very happy.

It reminds me of the old Victorian era, Momento Mori rings. I’m making a resin necklace with my dad’s hair in it so I don’t find it disgusting at all.

Not sure what was controversial about it. It's a beautiful ring that has their child/rens tooth in it. But I guess people will find anything to complain about. 🤷

I don’t think it’s any weirder than breast milk jewelry, which is also a thing 🤷♀

Start a second channel for stuff like these, could reach a diffrent target group and people from this channel who like these videos would automatically pull up the channel and those who don't like it will be "not bothered"
