Dragon Rising season 1 was more of just a introductory to the new world. So they focused more on that then like story. Which is fine since it was season 1. Now that we got the exposition out the way season 2 was very lore heavy and story heavy which was cool. Season 2 pt1 is better ofc but season 1 part 1 is good for it's purpose. It would be odd to start with a very complex plot immediately.
