I'm going from "wishing I could draw/paint" to "signed up for a drawing class and have one art goal for the year of drawing my favorite D&D character in a way that satisfies me, so everything after that is bonus points". So it's ambitious for me, but also not so ambitious that it's daunting. Drawing my kenku wizard will require learning a lot of different skills, so she's a great goal to have for a character portrait!

I'm working on becoming an illustrator. Make a new portfolio. Changing what type of videos I put up. Figure out how to sell prints. And working on illustrating my first coloring book. And maybe a graphic novel at some point. Outside of art, working on improving my health. 😊

Every December I look back on the year as a whole, take my lessons and use those to plan the next year. The last 3 weeks of December I set 3-4 primary goals. I can't handle more than that.

I'm applying to art school. After studying and finishing a career I didn't like in a field I'm not interested in, now that I have a job and am financially independent I'm pursuing what I always wanted to do :3

I've got a few things I'd like to accomplish in 2025 but at the same time I will be happy on trying to work on the goals - achieving them will be just a nice bonus ;) Just doing will bring me more joy and fulfillness~ I wish for all of us that 2025 will be good and healthy and bring us many wonderful oportunities along with successes, big or small! 🌟

I'm working on actually writing and illustrating another children's book all by myself :D I have everything planned on how I'll get there so I'm praying I can stick to it.

I’ve always wanted to have some sort of art career, and watching your videos has been such a big help for some ideas as well as motivation for getting started. I know it will take a long time, but even though I have only just started drawing regularly, I’m already seeing the teeny-tiniest growth on Insta, which I’m very proud of ☺️

Plan on doing some goals. I was able to complete most of my yearly goals within 5 months last year and then felt lost. Tried setting new ones after but didn’t give them as much thought as the original set and they did not feel right. My life has also gotten more chaotic since (fostering and kids moving out and then back in and another joining the bunch) and art isn’t as easy to make time for. Still a priority, just not the top one.

Are you making any art goals for 2025, or are you taking a more gentle approach?
I haven't made any strong plans yet, but I know that I want to focus on two things next year:
🌷 I'd love to illustrate most days (not necessarily every single day) with just a quick 20 minute session in my sketchbook.
🌷 And I'd love to make a pattern design portfolio.
There will be plenty of other projects along the way but that's what I want to focus on most!
Comment below with your goals or intentions if you have any! 💖
