When using an embossing folder - especially a 3D one - I always spritz the paper/cardstock (front & back) with water. This softens the fibers & helps prevent cracking of the paper. It's not totally foolproof, but it works at least 97% of the time! 😊 On a recent project, I embossed a panel where I'd glued patterned paper die cuts to a lightweight cardstock backing. Before the glue dried completely (no need to spray water with the damp glue), I embossed the panel. No cracking, even on the patterned paper. Moisture for the win!

*the picture of this card does not do the technique justice. It's super shiny where the white is and the resist was so so fun!*
