Ride to Food

"Do you plan your gas stops?" "How do you know how many miles to ride each day?" "What apps do you use?" "How do you find all these cool places?!" "How far in advance do you plan?" "Do you book campsites day of?"

In today's video, I'm answering y'all's questions and going over *everything* I consider when planning a motorcycle trip. I'll also show y'all how I build out my daily itineraries!

This is a video that y'all REALLY wanted me to make, so hopefully y'all enjoy it!

@1lostpuppy

That's way too much planning/work for me to even consider. Sometimes I don't know where I'm going until I get there 😊

Thanks for this, Staci! For me, I plan rides to the route and stop level. I have a LOT of rides planned, and I have rode some - from 25 miles to 1600 miles away! I plug my longer rides into my Garmin XT2 and follow my route. I've gotten better with creating waypoints for intersections of routes so that I ride through them - at first, some of my waypoints weren't directly on the route, so the Garmin would keep trying to redirect me back to a point I passed. I like your sunrise/sunset tip, especially for my fall and winter rides.

Depending on how many people are riding. Some have smaller tanks, so we plan stops around their range. We usually plan on around 2 hrs on longer trips. Question for you, Staci. How much of your day do you you film? I'm sure it depends on where you're riding. I just wondered if you film most of it a d then pick the best footage etc...? Thanks.

I ride solo for less drama & time lines. I usually plan all my gas stops, especially if it's an unfamliar road.

I‘ll wait until the Reserve Light comes on 😅. Or I calculate it: 13 Liters of tank (= 3.43 gallons), a gas consumption of 4,2 L/100 km = 56,00347 mi/gal = enough time until the next brea

Sometimes when I'm doing local routes. I play lotto too, that's why. Which station do I want to get my tickets from. Hope the strategy pays off lol!

Maybe you omitted it on purpose for brevity, but did you know you can get around GoogleMaps rerouting to avoid traffic problems by specifying a departure or arrival date and time.

I loved your video on planning a trip,but you are too meticulous and it's too detailed, I plan with Google also I still have paper maps so I can get a clearer picture of the state I'm traveling to. I love your content and I also rode thru the Ozarks through your booklet and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you

@tims6104

I stop when I need to or need to get off the bike for a few minutes

@SheldonGoff

When bike needs gas, get gas. When you are hungry, eat. It's not as complicated as some folks want it to be.

@Cyberviper8

I planned everything including areas of poor cell service and distances without gas stations and areas known for high winds. :)
