Some random guy

Hey guys, I'm currently working on a second '80s TV Show Opening Themes' video. Do you think that I should include the Cosby Show or not (in light of the Bill Cosby sexual assault cases)?

@Waverlyw

The other actors who put their hearts into that work shouldn't be penalized. A lot of them cut ties with him.

Whoever created the music shouldn't be forgotten

Yes because history needs to be preserved. Wether we like it or not, The Cosby Show was an iconic piece of television. We can't just erase it.

Absolutely! His real life actions have NOTHING to do with the legacy of the show. It is a standout example of 1980's television and whole heartedly deserves it's place.

Take into consideration that each season had different opening themes as the kids got older

If the story is going to be told, consideration needs to be taken to tell the WHOLE story--truth, warts, and all the rest in-between.

Look, when the sexual assault stuff first came out, I couldn’t look at any clips tbh but after awhile…I was like yk I used to really love & adore this show & whatever is happening irl shouldn’t stop me from feeling nostalgic.

The rest of the cast deserve props. It WAS a great show, certainly one of my favs growing up. I don't know if I'd be able sit and binge watch the Cosby Show. I can't watch That 70's Show now because the guy who played my FAVOURITE CHARACTER, is a sick rapist!😢

Similar issue in the UK with "Jim'll Fix It". Fantastic kids TV theme tune (well worth a search) but then...

Why should the show be penalized for something Bill Cosby did in his private life? All those cameramen, producers writers, etc need to be remembered for their good work.

Don't punish the show; punish the bad man.

He didn’t molest the show cast, it was a happy production, don’t be woke.

As a multiple SA survivor. I could at first at watch the Cosby Show with no problem. But that changed once Bill Cosby was released from prison. I have had difficulty separating Bill Cosby from any of his work without it effecting my PTSD. My two attackers were also black men who got a slap on the wrist for their crimes and they weren't effected at all. But their victims were. I get that most of the cast of the Cosby Show has cut ties with him. What about Phylicia Rashad? I get that she backtracked her comment about supporting Bill Cosby.

It doesn't really matter, because who knows what other people from the other shows have done behind closed doors, but never got caught or exposed? JS

How about Artists performing original theme songs for TV shows (American)

@amandafranklin1914

Honestly having a hard time thinking of an answer. It is a classic tv theme. But Cosby ruined everything with what he did.

And how about in January 2024 right after New Year's Day, can you upload a video named 170 Songs That Turn 20 Years Old in 2024? All the 2004 songs are turning 20 next year. I'm super excited about that.
