TIK, your work is easily the most compelling historical content I've come across in my lifetime, not just on youtube. I've not seen anyone else who is more thorough and so dedicated to not just leaning on historical narratives to fill in gaps, but actually finding the sources. And that doesn't even include your work on modern political history, which really ought to be considered groundbreaking. Thank you for the work you do!

TIK, your histories are so in depth I feel like I'm there. Between all the great history channels on YouTube; yours, Kings and Generals, HistoryMarche, The Great War, Between 2 Wars, World War Two, The Cold War, etc., I hope I live long enough to watch them all, since I'm 65. TIK, you are fantastic!

Glad to hear you’ve been feeling better working on this TIK, I was one of those worried about you working over the holidays so it’s reassuring to hear all’s well with you! Battlestorm is the absolute gold standard and you can be truly proud of your work.

Thank you for your dedication! I follow your channel for the Battlestorm videos as I have no interest in political theory. The Stalingrad series is by far the best piece of content I have watched on youtube, ever. A year ago exactly, I started suffering from work related burnout until I had to take a break and take the appropriate measures to make things better so I know how you feel (lack of sleep and hunger, etc). Burnout is something very serious so please take care of yourself!

Don't worry about animation, it's good enough. Your story telling( narrating) is, what makes yours videos great.

Cheers for the Video been chasing down the specifics of my Uncles death on June 27 or 29th depending on what record you look at and this really helped with getting a better grasp of what was going on at the time.

Congrats! Looking forward to it, I know your plan is to take everything on yourself in the future but I think editors, your Austrian friend who helps you translate records, etc, have usually helped with the quality of your videos when they’ve been involved. I know you’re not a manager anymore, you’re a historian, managers sometimes have to annoyingly micro-manage to make sure things get done because many many people will be shirkers if given the chance. The key is setting up incentives right with most jobs. You’re my favorite YouTuber and I’ll watch anyway as the combo of history from a libertarian bent is so rare. As an individualist I understand the draw of keeping your operation completely private but there really is more that can be achieved as an employer/artisan than a lone artisan.

Outstanding work. Clear and concise facts. Researched with engaging narrative and maps. Your product is much better than what you’d see on cable TV

I’ve seen other YouTubers have trouble with editors but honestly what you went through has to be the most egregious example. I’m sorry that you went through that headache.

Hey all, I finished the editing of Battlestorm Mersa Matruh late last night and will start to upload it shortly. Given the timing, I may as well send it out at the usual time later on to please the algorithm.
In my opinion, the video has turned out okay all things considered. Obviously, it would have been much better had I not been let down… And I’ll let you guys decide if the lack of animations is tolerable. I did end up adding in one or two (as well as many camera movements) just because it was necessary to tell the story.
But I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who commented in the recent video (as well as the 20 or so of you who became Patreons in response). Many of you were saying you could wait for the video, and that I should enjoy my Christmas with my friends and family. However I personally couldn’t wait any longer. Someone said: “If he is anything like me it will be more painful to see the family and friends knowing I could be sorting it out. Not saying it’s a good thing but I think I get why he’s doing it.”
And that’s precisely it. I did work Christmas Day, but it was actually enjoyable for me because I was working towards fixing the problem that had been hanging over me for many weeks. Imagine training for months to run a race, only to fall at the final hurdle because someone else tripped you up. You put in all that work, all that effort, and everyone turned up waiting for you to finish, and you didn’t finish. A complete waste. There’s no way I could even think of anything else until I’d gotten back up and ran that race again, finishing it this time, as outright failure is not an option for me.
I don’t know how else to explain it, but the last thing I want is to be on my deathbed knowing I could have done more with my life, but didn’t. Time is the only thing you cannot get back. And that’s the worst thing about this whole situation - this video could have been out months ago. I could be part-way through the animation process for the First Battle of El Alamein by now. I’m massively behind my potential, and that’s time I will never get back. That's what's so frustrating.
