Vader is such a well developed character with such a tragic story. As much as I love Spidey, I have to go with Vader, as his story is just so incredible.

Darth Vader’s story has 6 movies, hundreds of comics, and a tv series in depth of his writing. Spider-Man, as a character in general and not as any specific Spider-Man adaptation, is a simple but creatively written character. It’s easy to understand and relate to Spider-Man, because his writing is simple and not too deep. Vader, is by far one of the deepest and most tragic characters in fiction.

If we took out comics it would go to Spidey, there’s just SO much inconsistency, and I know they usually shove the bad writing into an alternate universe, but 616 Spidey has also been wildly inconsistent. I feel like Vader has very few lows to how he’s been written, consistently high quality and faithful to his original character

Darth Vader is the greatest movie villain of all time and tied with the Joker as the greatest villain of all time

They both have incredible, incredible highs but also a lot of lows. For Vader there’s games, books, comics and tv shows like Kenobi where he’s handled absolutely horribly and very inconsistent to what’s already been established. But Spider-Man just has more lows in general just due to the amount of content created centring around him being the older character and a comic centric one where there’s just so much more of him to muddy the waters. But Vader’s waters are more muddy too than people sometimes realise

Vader is such a weak minded character and be easily manipulated to become a very bad person the moment he feel true pain, not to mention he lost everything for what he did. And he is pure evil. Instead of stop to do bad after he make a wrong decision, he continue to hurt people just because 'He hate himself' Spiderman going through a lot same as Vader, lost everything not because what he did but what his enemies did to him. And he stays strong even tho with all those pain.

Late here, please see this comment. Spiderman is a little unreal. Not in a power sense (obviously, Vader isn't realistic in that sense either), but in a morality sense. He has gone through so much pain, and doesn't even once consider evil. Example, Obi-Wan Kenobi has gone through so much pain. Obviously, Obi-Wan doesn't become evil, but he has considered it once or twice. He has come close to falling off the bridge. Even Pure Good heroes, like Qui-Gon, have probably considered evil before. And they overcome that urge. Which makes a hero interesting. Now, Spiderman may have cases like that, but of we take Composite Spiderman's writing, he doesn't have a lot of dark or vengeful moments. At least not as dark as someone, say, Batman, Punisher, Red Hood, or John Wick (I might be expecting much since those four are supposed to be vengeful antiheroic vigilantes, but still). Vader is extremely well written, in both Canon and Legends. He is born a slave, then grows up to be a heroic knight that no-one trusted, who then is shaken by loss of the people he loves. In desperation, he seeks help from a great evil, who promises him the safety of his loved ones. Vader is an antivillain: we can sympathize his motivations and intentions, and we understand why he became the monster he became. And it's more morally realistic. If you were born a slave, raised as a knight since the age of 9, accomplished much but no-one trusted you, and then your mother dies and you have predictions that your wife dies, would you not turn to anything to save her? This is all my opinion, sorry for the essay, and that I am a little late, so if you see this comment, all I want to say is thanks for reading. Peace.

Spidey got some big writing issues basically from One more day. I'm not saying that Spider-man comics were all good before that (i for example don't like the Straczynsky's run) but One more day did what the Clone Saga didn't. Darth Vader has now some issues with writing (mainly due to the idiotic way he has been used by Disney in the Kenobi show) but nothing compared to Spider-man.

Hence why star wars shits on everything else Sweet slave boy ani with hopes and dreams, to prodigal cocky padawan, to greatest impulsive general in the clone wars, to a wise and patient master, to a loving and kind husband, to the chosen one with no fear, hero of the republic, to a conflicted and sleepless father, to the destroyer of the republic and jedi, to darth vader, to a lonely sad and tired old man, unstoppable killer, conquerer of worlds and galaxy, the emperors fist, the bringer of death and destruction, to an evil man who sees hope, back to the chosen one and destroyer of the sith...finally an immortal force ghost to guide his children. Rest easy anakin the force will always be with you 🙏

I absolutely hate Spider-Man. I loved OG Peter when he was written by Joseph Michael Straczynski. But since then, I started to absolutely hate this character. He is always a looser. I mean, downfalls are making character more relatable. But,I doubt that someone is such a looser like Peter in his current position. Current Peter is asking forgiveness after being beaten by Tombstone... Wtf is this crap? His wife has kids from other guy and he is still simping to her, somehow, despite he has many different girls like Black Cat, Silk, Kitty Pride and many others. Especially Black Cat. While Vader, on the other hand, became even cooler in comics. He became much more badass, scary and well written. He got a new well developed lore. New characters around him. Every single comic book about him is spectacular, while SM barely have some since Superior Spider-Man, I suppose. That's why I'll love to see a solo vader movie. Comics made him even more cooler, despite he already was an amazing character. So if you choose Spider-Man, I really recommend you to read some Vader comics or Nightwing current comics. They showed how character should be developed and not get trashed by dumb writers.
