The Aesthetic City

Hi all,

Short update - you might have noticed it's a bit quieter, so I thought it's about time for an update!

I'm in London at the moment, after having done a trip to Paris to speak at a congress in Le Plessis Robinson, but also to continue filming for the biggest project I've ever done: the Aesthetic City Academy course, to teach 1 million people about traditional architecture and urbanism. It's a massive amount of work (imagine having to make 10 hours of video instead of only 10-20 minutes!) but it's worth it, and I'm learning a lot.

If you want to learn more or are interested in doing this course, subscribe to the waitlist: the-aesthetic-city.kit.com/a2d41beb6f

I've also been in a number of interviews lately. Here is an English interview from the channel Paradigm Shift:

And here, for my fellow Dutchmen, an interview with De Nieuwe Wereld:

Other good news: I've got LOADS of video ideas. This year will be a crazy one: a lot of travel, but also, hopefully, a lot of pivotal videos - and the course will launch. The wait will be worth it!

Cheers,

Ruben

Your work is so great and important! Thank you so much for spreading the word! I currently live in Hamburg and get so sad when I look at the new buildings

It's incredible to think that the Place des Vosges in Paris was built 400 years ago and is still vibrant and a cool place to live.

Man I love your work ! Architecture is Art, and I hate how this Art became reduced to function today, it's thanks to people like you that I have Faith for the industry !

As I wrote you in an email to which you responded, Basel is a perfect example of madness added to a traditionally beautiful city

I know you're probably busy with work, but there's a building on my college campus that was finished in 2022 and it is a perfect example of what traditional architecture can do. It's not perfect, but it has a modern interior with an exterior that blends in well with the surrounding brick buildings of the early 19th century in North America. The name is Pauley Science Center
