THIS is why you will NEVER EVER convince me not to support the second amendment. I'm the only one that cares enough about me to protect ME.

They're not here to catch criminals or protect normies: they're here to intimidate normies and keep them in their place.

Publicly Funded service refuses to protect the public when it endangers them. Sounds like a racket to me lol

"Police can (and WILL) watch someone attack you, refuse to intervene and not violate the Constitution." fixed that for ya!

I was a cop in the military and have been considering joining the civilian law enforcement sector, and I have to say this turns my stomach. The creed of ALL police is to serve and PROTECT. You took the job, you wear the badge, you preform your duties. For Gods sake we carry a gun and wear a vest, we should be willing to step in and if necessary take a bullet for the citizens to whom we have been entrusted to safe guard. This, this right here is why people don't take cops seriously.

Damn, as a retired Deputy and TCLEOSE Inst from the 80's & 90's this goes against everything we were trained and spent our career doing.

They may not be violating the constitution, but they’re violating the trust in the public they’ve sworn to protect. Why do we pay them? Every police officer takes an oath where they swear to “serve and protect”. Serve and protect whom?

@talljohn5350

Exactly. If a person is being harmed/victimized you don’t get to call time out and wait for a hopefully competent cop to show up. If we know that calling an armed person is the best way stop a dangerous criminal then people should be able to actually protect themselves and not rely on the government.

Coming from the UK i wish we still had the right to bear arms, so don't let them take that right away from you because when it gone you will never get it back. I do know how to keep my axe good and sharp thanks to you Cody, who knows i may need it one day. :) Thank you for all you do. All the best to you and yours from across the pond.

This is why putting your health and safety in the hands of someone else is NEVER a good thing.

I see they haven't quite thought this thing through, and I can see this coming up in future court cases, that you have the right to defend yourself by any means necessary. It also sounds like another 2A argument in our favor.

A proud immigrant now American and I have been taking up gun safety lessons to protect myself. Getting my concealed after and then it's off to the next step. I am proud to be here and taking the citizenship test I know the full effect of the second amendment. Seems like the people who were born here just hates the country and not valuing the values/privilege they have.

Hell yeah. Our right to bear arms shall never be infringed. It's been tried many times and fails. I'm not worried where I am, tough as nails sheriff who loves freedom. 🇺🇲 Choose where you live very carefull

The only person accountable for your safety is you. Don’t let them take away the best tools available to protect.

As an adult: my lesson was during the Rodney King Riots in LA. The police ran away. This was reinforced by Hurricane Katrina hitting New Orleans which I had just missed by 2 days (we were thinking of extending our vacation but decided to go back home...and...thank goodness we did...). In that instance not only did half of the New Orleans PD run away...there were cops who looted stores and when outside law enforcement was brought in...they illegally entered homes without warrants and illegally seized firearms. In one instance the officer of a National Guard unit bunked his unit inside of a church without permission from the property owner violating the 3rd amendment. In essence there were wholesale violations of the 2nd and 4th amendments along with rampant looting.

Lmao this should be the number 1 go to reference of anyone arguing for the 2nd amendment being absolute. This is laughably sick

@tgm2474

As law enforcement is never able to protect you (by virtue of always arriving after the fact), their unwillingness or obligation to protect is irrelevant.

Subscribed after reading that post. Right on. Becoming a father changed my perspective. I now take training ...at least one good 16 hour class a year. Screw that, the reality is -- when seconds count the cops are minutes away. Nah man. I carry 24/7, even at home.

Exactly. If you are unwilling or unable to protect yourself, no one will.
