I feel like X keeps fundamentally misunderstanding how they're meant to work. They work for 10 chests in a 30-block area. You're not meant to have a giant centralized storage space with them, you're meant to have different items in different zones. Mojang is encouraging more spread-out builds/villages, and less giant mega-bases.

Try leaving 2 air blocks above the copper chest! ran into this exact issue last night wheni tried to do this and the only way i could get the golem to interact with the copper chest is for him to: A. Already be on top of the copper chest Or B. Have at least 2 full air blocks above the copper chest so he can hop on top. No idea why this is required as it wasnt a problem for regular chests, but it was the only way i could get him to interact with the Copper chest.

I want to be optimistic about the copper golems but they seem so very finicky

Golem: what is my purpose Me: you sort junk for eternity Golem: oh my god

They really just seem like a fun novelty. Something to bring life to a base. I can’t see them being better than traditional auto sorters.

It's a great video on how X deals with a feature that doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Worth a watch.

Copper golems are perfect for farms like iron golem or simple mobfarms, where the drop amout of differnt items isnt higher then like 8. I will use copper golem for my iron farm to sort out iron into crafters and poppys into composters

Hopefully it ends up an efficient and easy (perhaps slow) storage system with minimal to no redstone prowess needed. Although it’s fun to design mega circuits, sometimes it’s nice to plunk a bunch of stuff down and have your loot auto sorted

Non native here. ‹it don't work› can this be said? Or is this intentional? Or does x made a weird mistake ?

I was kinda afraid of that. Will watch this when I get home. I was hoping I could use copper golems to get like damaged gold swords out of my spawner farm chests .. I mean I was worried about the durability part.. would the little bastard put 10 differently damaged golden swords into 10 different chests, or all the same.

Did something change between the test versions and the release? Because someone else made a working system like a month ago or something..

I hope it doesn't turn into allay 2.0 Please mojang, make an effort on it being a good option and not just a gimmick

Neat! Definitely want to check it out! 2 and a half hours!?!?!? That's way too long! Do you teach them to do circus tricks while sorting the items!? 😵

Patiently waiting for the next video covering bars, lanterns and all of that

To be fair, X, this is a snapshot. Mojang will listen to your input and work on that
