Thomas confirmed we are going to discover what this is during this season on twitter a while ago. My current theory is that the mysterious organization we saw at the end of El Toro de Piedra somehow contacted Lila in this scene and made her part of the organization, which would make sense considering she implied she had a team of people working with or for her in her monologue in Ilustrhater. Hope this makes sense!

as I said in a previous post, I would like it to be a future version of Adrien who has fallen to the dark side (Savitar Adrien as I like to call him) but, the more it goes on, the less I think this theory will come to fruition. too bad because I would really like to see a bad Adrien (and not an akumatization, I want him to be bad of his own free will). and, frankly, with everything he has taken in the mouth throughout the series, I think he has the right to lose his temper

Seen lot of theories of some form of time travel... Dark Adrien, Lila herself, someone else who took Lila's place... lot's of weird ones. I personally don't know who or what that could've been but I really hope it pays off... Actually... SPOILERS! Could it have something to do with the secret society? IDK how but we got introduced to it, a new big bad, we don't really know Lila's motivation (to be fair it took one season to learn Gabe's motivation) so it seems to me that the new final boss isn't Lila but rather this group
