I've always heard that helium drives are 100% fucked the moment you loosen up the metal cover. Chris is a madman and needs to be protected.

We miss your board repairs. Can you do one every now and again?

I know you’ve moved on to greener pastures, but I followed you simply because of your repair videos as a Mac dude myself. I miss those days.

Helium drives have lower air resistance than using regular air so the platters don't need as much power to spin at the same rotational velocity.

this is something I've been wondering about since getting 18TB helium drive.

How long do He drives last? He has a habit of escaping almost any confinement...

All we technicians must joke the same. I've said those exact words many times after a long grueling project ended. Lol

You sound like you're a great boss. Wish I could work for you doing... Something I dunno, definitely not something as cool as my guy Chris with his helium tank lol.'

Did all that without a multi million dollar clean room? How is that possible! /s

It's a real shame how little value those repairable macs have down in aus. The devices them selves have quite the life left. But as thedogbarber said , it would be cool to see them every now and again .

Chris recovered an old helium drive of mine with this helium tank and jig. Got everything. It worked. Wow. Lots to refine, but very pretty!!!
He stayed late to figure it out and smiled while jokingly saying "now I can die!" It's fun to work with people who are as excited about their craft as I was making all those board repair videos from 2013-2021.
