Back in 2018, I entered a national classical competition hosted by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
I wanted to see what would happen, and find out if I wanted to try and pursue classical music as a career.
I made it to the semifinals, but the whole process left me drained, full of impostor syndrome, and wishing I was playing my own arrangements instead of memorizing other people’s music.
Around that same time, the first Octopath Traveler game came out, and all I could think was: *I’d rather be playing this music.* That’s when I decided to go all in on video game music, and that’s how my first album, *Guiding Light,* came to be*.*
Now, years later, I’m so grateful I followed that path because now I’m lucky enough to say I have my dream job! And I can’t wait to finally share the sequel album with you. 💿✨
