If you know me, you know that talking about feelings is really not something I’m very good at or enjoy. Maybe it’s a British thing.
I grew up loving music. When I was a teenager all I wanted to do was play guitar.
When I was about 18 years old I decided that this was a ridiculous idea and gave it up to go to university. What followed was a string of jobs that I hated, not to mention an overwhelming sense that I had thrown away the thing I cared about the most.
When I was 22, the pandemic happened and I started making videos on the internet of me playing little ideas I’d written. I didn’t really even think anything of it at the time. Eventually, some of them blew up, and this inspired me to push ahead with music, ultimately completely changing the path my life was on.
I used to think that to be a musician was to be in a constant wrestling match with your own self-doubt and sense that you aren’t quite good enough. As I’ve gotten older and spoken to more people, I’ve realised that this is just what life is.
Even up until a few years ago, the idea of playing these little songs I’d written live seemed like a crazy thing to do. Flash forward to today and, despite the incredibly stressful time I’ve had putting it all together, I couldn’t be happier with how it’s come out. I think you’re gonna love it.
In two weeks, I’ll be touring the UK. You can still buy a ticket. See you there ;)
