Staying motivated. My focus is lost while in the middle of practicing. I start with excitement then within 5 minutes I begin to lose attention. I love drumming but am I to old to practice? Any help? Thanks

Like you mentioned in your last video "go deep into one rythm" is what I think I need. Have a start point which can develope. I start with something easy and progress too fast and end on stuff i cannot play. When i started playing guitar i learned E, Am, D, G, C and H7. In that order. It gave me something limited to play with, but enough to develope.

My left foot. I just can't get it to keep solid time. Drives me crazy.

Depending on the complexity of the groove, separating opposites from slaving (right hand, left foot mostly)

Being good with my feet as my hands. Mind to feet connection. Causes monotonous breaks and very limited double pedal use and speed.

My problem is putting all the sections of a song together in a flawless rhythm; such as returning to a rhythm figure from a fill. In short, not sounding so choppy when playing whole songs through.

Rudiments boring my butt off! 20 years of drumming, and I haven't got past single stroke rolls 😆
