EVERYTHING Ren has his hand in will have my attendance. All his solo stuff, all his collabs (Sam, Token, Chinchilla, Romain, Liv, Webby , etc), and the 2 bands - both Trick the Fox and The Big Push. Fooling around in the studio, busking, dropping in on a friend’s performance, live on stage, regular ‘videos’, formal theatrical pieces, etc. Anything he has a hand in is golden.

I would vote for both lyrical and message deep dives, but I'll be happy with either! Ren is very well-read, and he's a deep thinker, and he's insanely creative, so it will be good no matter what :hands-yellow-heart-red:

Because Ren's music varies so wildly, I think you're going to find it difficult to investigate a singular particular aspect. Lyrical analysis is good, until you come across the tracts which are simply flex, or come across a track with no lyrics at all. Content analysis is good until you come across the tracks where he's just having fun or being funny. I'd go with 'other' and identify the most interesting qualities of whichever particular work, because they're all going to be pretty different.

Very exciting news! Deep dives, in any way, into Ren’s catalogue is a worthy endeavor. So hard to choose which framework, it might depend on the song. But will probably inevitably include both.

About potential deep dives related to REN. I personally feel, based on my B.A. in Theater, that he intentionally decides to create a fully realized experience with each published work. The lyrics are the backbone of the larger point he makes through videos.

How the lyrics, the musical themes, motifs etc and the context in which the art exists: the interactions between those elements are, for me, what makes it interesting to hear.

I think that Ren's lyrics will be studied in universities one day, they are so profound & prolific!!

Ren has put his illness & music into 8 beautifully written chapters on his other channel #RenMakesStuff I would suggest doing those videos or covering his court case regarding his song Sick Boi (there's a 35 min video about it on his channel & then a video for his response, Kujo Beat Down. Honestly, u can't go wrong with Ren!!!

Tons of reactors analyze for rap bars Easter eggs on and on. Maybe themes as a new way to approach him.

Just try not to repeat what all Renegades know already! Like other commenters here my personal taste is very Ren-centric. I don't think there are many other artists that measure up to him, and those that do, I can make my own opinions.

social commentary, his trilogies are fantastic, the tale of Jenny and screech the 13 min long one has them all tied together. money game 1,2 and 3. ren has just started another set of tales which tie into Jenny and screech so might be worth watching that first. before kujo beatdown, you will here everyone say please watch the video why sick boi has been taken down first🙂 other than that he has an amazing catalogue of different songs and videos. the big push was a busking band he was in. ❤

The Quiet Rebel
It seems Ren is an even more popular artist (and subject) than I even imagined!!
I will be doing musical discovery videos where you can step outside your comfort zone into new genres and experience something new, and maybe even fresh, and I will also be doing a deepdive on an artist each motn.
However, I am up for doing more content on Ren. I have considered looking at his music from a standpoint of his lyrical content, or taking a particluar subject matter, such as illness, or social justice, etc.
What would people like to see more of that maybe is not covered by other videos already?
(PS I'm also open to ideas outside of Ren if people have interesting angles)
