In Affinity, you can create all kinds of shapes such as circles, rectangles, stars etc but for some reason there is no automatic zigzag or wave etc tool to create line designs (there is not even a line tool in Affinity 3) but you can create the shapes just by using the pen tool and setting it to the correct apply mode and create zigzags, sawtooth designs and more.
