No Sediment

So many questions, so little time! So, if you have a wine related question or not so much wine related one, ASK ME HERE in the comments. I will try to answer them all on one of my upcoming videos here on the channel. Cheers! 🥂

Love your channel! 1.) How much wine do you drink? 2.) How do you deal with alcohol to avoid health issues as a professional sommelier? 3.) What’s your opinion on baltic wines e.g. Solaris?

Awesome! Two things spring to mind. 1. Elucidating the use and abuse of the labels Premier and Grand Cru. To what extent are these labels useful to consumers and indicative of quality? 2. What makes a good vintage, not just in terms of optimal conditions for growing grapes, but once the wine is made, what makes one vintage better than another, and what exactly do we mean by ‘better’?

How to shop wine like a pro? What do you look for when you browse an unknown assortement of wines to find the good ones and avoid the not so good ones? I think a lot of normal shoppers are just scanning the wines using Vivino when trying to find «a good wine», but I would like to learn more on what to look for and how to spot the gems ☺️

I don't see anyone reviewing or even talking about raisin wines to a remarkable extent. I adore Sforzato di Valtellina and Amarone della Valpolicella. Would you give these a review? Adding to my request, Rivesaltes amber and the like from southern France and globally wines of similar process - du naturel. Specifically, I am seeking to learn more about producers and bottles best for aging, versus the process. Thank you!

@ralphtuber

I have a hard time distinguishing some grape varieties, even like Cabernets vs Merlots. Is it really possible for a trained person to do it, or terroir and other factors have more impact in the final product than the grape variety?

Could you make videos suggesting wines by price range? Under 20, under 50 or under 100?

1.What are your thoughts on wine sales going down? 2. Do you every take home samples to taste instead of try them at work? I want to own a wine shop but don’t want to drink on the job.

I'd love your thoughts on buying wine (vintage and non-vintage) from auction houses, either in person or online.

Not likely a topic worthy of a video, but do you have any tips other than vintage/bottle age on how to tell when one should default to a cork puller rather than a corkscrew? Are there visual signs one can see on the cork through the bottle neck? Had to use a stainless steal tea strainer to remove cork from two bottles of Herold Cabernet Sauvignon recently that were only about 10 years old but I managed to break both the corks and was unable to remove all of the remnants 🙁

Thanks for a great channel. I’m a huge fan of Nebbiolo wines. Interested to find Barolo/Barbaresco wines with lower alcohol (<14%). Do you know of any or how to search/find? Roagna is one example, normally 13,5-14%

Would you rather drink sauvignon blanc and then merlot or pinot grigio and then pinot noir?

Hi Agnes, I wonder how you rate Montefalco Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso and how you would compare these to even super Tuscans. No rush but thanks a lot and keep up the good work.

Hi Agnes, I'm always wondering: what is the benefit of lime soil to chardonnay/ pinot noir? Or perhaps more objectively: what does it do to the grapes en how does this work?
