I ran twice years ago for a very small seat in a red district. I dont have your pedigree but I work with the disabled. I tried a camping like yours the establishment Democrats here didn't support it. But seeing your campaign at a bigger level do good work really makes me smile. Keep fighting the good fight

You are an example of how campaigns SHOULD BE. So glad I donated.

This is the way to do it, Kat. We don’t need legislation to help one another— we need people to see that. And you’re displaying it.

If more campaigns ran like yours we could have a functional and healthy society. Forget ads and rallies. I want my representatives running campaigns to try to change lives by DOING, not just relentlessly pursue focus groups with the goal of "winning" them by making false promises or vague statements. For too long the people have been used as pawns in this ugly divorce. Its time we help ourselves by helping each other. You go Kat, you have this Marylander/Mainer's vote locked down if you ever run for president.

I was hopeful enough when I was Kat Abughazaleh's age to go to work in Harold Washington's campaign. I am so glad to see her keeping up the Chicago radical tradition of hope for real change, not just political change but change in our thinking about a what makes a good society, working to move us from "liberty, equality, fraternity" to: equality, solidarity, liberty! A Congress full of Kats and Zohrans and Jasmines and Alexandrias would give Americans, finally, solid, universal social security, cradle to graduate social care and education and healthcare funded by fair taxation. Speak for Chicago, Kat! (And don't hesitate to put in a good word for our distressed friends in Gaza and the West Bank!)

I help a friend here in Portland, OR - she’s set up to do gleaning from grocery stores (food that’s still good they just have to pull it to make space for new things) and we fill free fridges and it’s such a joy💕 perhaps something like this model where volunteers that maybe don’t have extra food but have time to glean could help allocate some food to more fridges

This is an overdue campaign strategy. Reach people AND help them!!! They will feel more committed by contributing something and participating in something possitive.

Hey Kat! I’m a huge fan!!! I live in Indianapolis, IN. I’m a home-mom of two toddlers and my best friend lives with me (she’s the loveliest person; and also, casually: the best kindergarten teacher in the state and works in an Indy neighborhood that NEEDS her impact!). A) how can we support you from a neighboring state? B) how can I help my state? It’s a very red state… but how can I be like you and make actual change in national politics? 💙💙 **[my degree is from Indiana University in “nonprofit management” and my successful experience and passion are in fundraising and events]

One of the best parts of this campaign is how we've not only reached people but *helped* them too. Last weekend, we were able to completely stock the pantry of one of the Evanston Community Fridges! We asked folks to bring food donations in exchange for a yard sign and were blown away by the response.
Today I'll be holding Virtual Office Hours from 4-6 CT. If you have a question for me, fill out this form and join the stream: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeGyTbXvTLxyJVpIX…
