Loud sound should be limited to emergency warnings. Invading people’s listening space and damaging their hearing is not only a health risk it is also offensive. I hope there will be laws to defend the rights of people who need sleep, who need their hearing protected and who need to accomplish things with normal volume around them.

This isn’t community building. This has absolutely nothing to do with community whatsoever. Even their “community” is simply protection in numbers. This is all about ME, ME, ME, LOOK AT ME culture.

If I took the time and money to travel around the world to see the Shire and I run into this guy I would be so pissed.

Meet the Siren Kings – New Zealand's loudest subculture.
Since 2010, self-proclaimed Siren Kings have been strapping sirens ordinarily used for tsunami warnings onto their bikes and cars to play music as loud as they can. While they say their love of sounds is a form of creative self-expression and community building, their neighbors say it’s 3am and they can’t sleep.
Local investigators, @TheDepartmentofInformation, set out to meet these Siren Kings, hear from their sleepless neighbors, and try to figure out why they’re playing Céline Dion in the middle of the night.
