IVOR NOVELLO. Best Album! Two years ago, I had my first baby and decided to write a record about parenthood in all its shapes and sizes. We moved out of London, and I wrote a lot of the demos in his future playroom while I waited for my studio to be built. I just wanted it to feel raw, vulnerable, and lyrically exposing.
Fast forward to now, and the album has been nominated for what I see as the most prestigious songwriting award — I can’t believe it! It’s given me the confidence and impetus to keep leaning into vulnerability and diving even deeper.
