Maybe it's because I'm getting old but to this day I maintain that the best part of Sword Shield is that the adults see the truly problematic issues and instead of just letting the child player deal with it or outright encouraging them to get involved, they tell the player "Yeah there's a problem but you are a kid and you should be focusing on being a kid, and we'll handle it." Sure ultimately you have to fix their problems anyways but they at least try.

I love the way SwSh treats gym battles. It's a journey that everyone starts together and it's a celebration. There are people cheering for us along the way and winning each fight in a stadium full of audience feels satisfying. I also love the subtle storyline of passing roles onto younger generation. Like Bede and Marnie become gym leaders, Leon becomes the chairman after us the player becoming champion, etc. Hop is also my one of my favourite rival as he is the very few that actually shows remorse after losing, instead of just the usual happy upbeating rivals we get. He even has his team changed 2 times, and at the end he found his own goal of becoming a professor, which I feel like isn't a storyline most rivals are given. Lastly I like that the gym leaders and champion in SwSh actually shows up when something happens. I know a lot of people complaint about Leon taking away all the fun when he checks things out as chaos happen and asks us to just go on our way. However that is what an actual adult supposed to do,not just stand at the side and ask a 10yo to go see what is going on. Leon having Charizard shields us and Hop when he was the one closer to Eternatus makes him my favourite champion in the entire series. While the post game is very lacking, I do like how the gym leaders react very professionally when dynamax pokemon shows up suddenly. They instruct the staff to evacuate the area before facing the pokemon. In conclusion I just really like the way SwSh treats pokemon battle as a whole. Each main battle is big deal, the gym leaders are the strongest in the area and they act as a protector of that area, and the entire region will know it when you become the one and only champion. IMO it truly feels like it's our journey and we reached the goal.

I love how the gym’s are treated like a sport. I hate the stupidity of the raid partner A.I.

The secret Leon fight is super underrated.

The gym battle music is my hype music whenever I need a pick me up so I would say that's probably my favorite part

I loved the new Pokemon, characters, and dynamax but it felt like I wasn’t quite different enough from sun and moon. Generally still one of my favourite gens tho 7.5/10

I loved the open concept of the wild area and the different level Pokémon being dotted around the map, and that different Pokémon could spawn in different weather.

@KeyboardSerpent

I loved the (human) character designs. The uniforms look amazing and the characters that wear them have so much personality. The only thing I didn't like was the the climax of the story - it felt a little rushed, like the writers themselves couldn't even think of a good reason why Rose couldn't have waited another day or two. Edit: Oh and I hated team Yell. They're just a knock off team Skull but infinitely worse. Team Skull are goated, and they obviously tried to recapture what made them so likeable but failed spectacularly.

@Worldsmartmoai

I loved the Pokémon designs as they felt very fresh, but I hated the fact there was no overworld shinies, which I mentioned last stream but you forgot that let’s go games and they had overworld shinys and everyone liked that

I also really like the pokémon jobs. Makes me feel better than just having them sit in a box

I loved the music. Honestly, i don’t think that there’s a better first game to start with. It’s better to start with the worse ones and be surprised that it gets better, because as a kid i still really enjoyed it and played the heck out of it

@vDobbyy

I loved that the wild area wasn’t scaled to your level and you could freely come across a pokemon you aren’t supposed to have yet and try to catch it

@Ryecookieisthemoment

I loved the characters the most in S&S. Especially Hop. He starts as an amateur trainer who just wants to be like his big brother, but after his defeat against Bede, he starts to realize that he needs to be his own person

@Seydrey

I loved that there were some random encounters, and the way to shiny hunt

@CollectorSteven

With this game having an open world theme, you can definitely tell how the pokemon company has really evolved its game play from these games in that aspect.

I mainly loved the setting tbh from the rural towns to the gorgeous urban cities. The setting truly made the game imo

@Baz-t3w

I think the town designs are some of the best and most creative ones in the whole series, it’s unfortunate they couldn’t also deliver on the plot.

Best part, Gyms(and league), Art Style, Battle Animation, Battle Tower and the daycare placements. Worst part, NO OVERWORLD SHINIES
