I filmed a video last week just after the Solitary Witches essay. I filmed it as a reaction because we found a video of a white witch on YouTube who was shocked conservatives would go after people like her with the book "Pagan Threat". This person said, unironically, repeatedly, that conservatives should "go after Muslims instead", and that the reason we should stop "bomb the middle east is because Muslims cannot integrate with white culture and they will just do crime and r*pe". So we shouldn't make them "escape" to europe.
I'm not paraphrasing. A white cis het woman who claims to be a peaceful witch and pagan said that.
I thought deconstructing and showing you their racism and yt supremacy would have been educational but I was yet again reminded that if I showed how frustrated and angry, how she made me want to scream, in that state, I'd be the "angry Arab person" that people like her would use to prove their point because fake respectability politics always find a stick to beat people like me with.
So no, no video today. But I'll soon write a substack with her quotes, and hopefully I won't be tone policed as much in written form. But this is the kind of thought I need to have. All the time. And it's exhausting
