The colour's hue seems closer to red. It being "lighter in colour" doesn't quite equal to it being more orange. If it were closer to orange I think it would look more brown if you kept the same level and saturation to it. That being said, people can see colours differently, so it may literally appear closer to orange to some peoples eyes. And yes the colour itself is more a salmon, but I'm answering under the question of "what Is the colour closest too*, not *what it Is.
