On Paperface Zine, there’s an article by Martin Meyer (Lumpy Records) titled "A Case for Hatching: My Eulogy for Egg Punk Explained."

Interestingly, he pretty much wrote the same things I posted about nine months ago! Back then, I was already questioning whether egg punk was an unfulfilled promise—how it started as a breath of fresh air but quickly became predictable and stagnant.

if you are punk in 2025 ... you are either a clueless highschooler and you get a pass, a clueless college kid with no imagination and no foundation in punk music, or you are that one band on third mạn and should know better. more than ever we are in need of new sonic avenues for protest, feeling, and expression in our community, as we fall deeper into the depths of this new dark age. i am calling on all of you who have participated in this trend to think longer, try harder, and better.
