Would you rather always have a clean uniform or always have dry socks?

@AllHandsMinistry

As a vet i can tell you that dry socks will keep you in the fight and morale up. This we'll defend

@BenLacey-p2e

I get pissed off when my socks get wet and I'm a civilian!

Cleans socks make you feel brand new even when the rest of your body is dirty. Never failed me in the field. Washing my feet and then air drying them out and new socks.

That's the stupidest question to ask an 11B

I was an 11 Bravo, socks is a must over a clean uniform. A light infantryman gets to where they are going with their feet. A dirty uniform means more camouflage.

A large chunk of the brave boys who died in WW1 died because of infections caused by wet and muddy socks. Trench foot is no joke. Dry socks are a necessity, especially when you’re unable to change out of them into OTHER dry socks (like being in a trench for weeks to months.)

As a 68W, worrying about the condition of troops’ feet was actually a thing. Dry socks are way more important than a clean uniform. Kind of a silly question.

Dry socks and a second pair of boots in your ruck are a great morale booster, along with hot chow.

That 8% obviously never did a long road march home after being in the bush with mostly rainy weather for a week. 😆

I was on the medical side of the Army, nothing more important than keeping your feet dry. Not only does it help physically but it also helps mentally. I have seen some bad cases of trench foot in my time.

Any grunt worth his salt knows that. From the Revolution to Now.

There is a Willie and Joe ( Willie and Joe are two infantrymen) cartoon from WWII where they are siting on the bank of a ditch and Willie goes ‘ You dun saved ma life yesterday , I swore I’d never forget, here’s ma last pair of dry socks ‘

I didn't even serve. I'm an Amazon delivery driver. That's the easiest question I've ever been asked

Never gave a fuck about a clean uniform especially when we was going to the field or to the range. But man when my boots and socks would get soaked smh it's the worst shit ever hearing that squishy noise when you walk 😂

@MFCSteele

Getting wet socks at the very beginning of a patrol took me to depths I didn't know existed.

@USMCArchAngel03

My Corpsman will kill me if he finds me wearing wet socks all day.

As a vet dry socks hands down. Once you have wet cold feet your you feel the cold more. Dry socks keep feet warm at night so you can get some sleep and no foot problems

@shootingbricks8554

That's common sense. If your feet are F-cked up, you're done

@SirBenKenobi

The soldier’s creed says to always place the mission first. If my socks are wet my feet will get infected and I can’t keep moving forward. A dirty uniform doesn’t affect my capabilities to complete my tasks.

@chefnstrike

Not even comparable. I’ve worn the same uniform for a month straight while deployed. I had 30 pairs of socks with me on the OP.
