During the limited time I spend on social media, I see something that weighs on my heart. So many who claim the name of Jesus with their lips and reflect not His nature, but the spirit of this world. Their words are sharp but not His. Their posts are bold but not born of Him. Their corrections are loud but void of love.
Folks understand you can quote scripture, say your fighting the good fight and still lack the heart of the only One that matters. Many think they are defending the faith, but what they are truly defending is their pride.
They proclaim righteousness with hostility, but the fruit of their words exposes a different spirit entirely. You can always tell who spends more time in the Word rather than the world, because His presence produces humility, purity, and peace. Never arrogance, accusation and strife.
Social media has become the wilderness where many wander without realizing they are lost. They scroll endlessly, believing they are standing for truth, yet every moment spent chasing arguments is a moment spent drifting further from the Lord. To walk in the supernatural joy of His love, you must renew your mind daily through His Word, but most have traded their Bibles for social media posts. They feed on the world’s noise and wonder why they have no peace. They drink from polluted waters and wonder why their spirit feels heavy. The Lord is calling His people to step away from the constant flood of noise and return to the still waters where His Spirit restores the soul. You cannot reflect Christ while feasting on the world’s fruit, you will always become what you consume.
It is a tragic and miserable existence to think that your life’s purpose is to be always right online while being at odds with God himself. Those who do not love, do not know God, because God is love. The boldness of the flesh is not the same as the boldness of the Holy Spirit. One seeks to be right all the time, while the other seeks to redeem and lift up. The world’s boldness demands to be heard, but Heaven’s boldness flows from a quiet heart that is surrendered and healed by God’s love.
Until you abide under the shadow of the Most High, your words will carry the heart of the world, not the nature of Christ. But when you dwell in His presence, even your corrections will sound like mercy, and even your silence will carry conviction. Those who live there no longer need to shout to prove their faith, their very peace becomes their testimony.
So to those who claim the faith of Christ Jesus hear this. Return to your first love. Spend more time loving and forgiving your enemies than exposing them. Spend more time searching the living Word of God than causing little ones to stumble. You say your peace is gone because of the world’s chaos, but peace was never meant to come from this world, it comes only from walking with Jesus. When your heart abides in Him, even the storms cannot touch your spirit. You will stand in the middle of shaking and still feel His stillness. You will hear of wars, corruption, and calamity yet remain unmoved because you know the One who holds tomorrow. The more you live in His Word, the less the world can steal your joy. For those who dwell in His presence, even in chaos, peace reigns, even in sorrow love abounds. Even in silence, His voice thunders within. This is the life of the true believer. Someone not loud, not restless, but radiant with the quiet strength of the Almighty.
