Who was the better villain?

Aizen was allowed significantly longer build up and farther development and impact on both present and past story, and had an extremely memorable personality and demeanor; Ywach had better feats and lore which is especially nice given how much shorter of time he had in the limelight.

The anime has done a lot to flesh out Yhwach’s character and motivations, but when you think Bleach villains, Aizen is the first character that comes to mind. He’s just too iconic.

Yhwach a great villain. But Aizen is simply Aizen.

Aizen is ICONIC. Aizen is Bleach

Y’all kinda missing the question. Ywhach def was the better villain when it comes to how everything was planned. He did what aizen couldn’t almost effortlessly, from how he handled Yama to ascending to the soul palace. He became thought god aizen wanted to become. Aizen def is a great villain no doubt and he’s my favorite, however he lost to himself. Ywhach took various op members from the cast aizen included

I love them both a lot, and I think the anime has done a tone to help fix Yhwach as a character. Aizen is just such an icon though. Everything he does has so much aura despite not even having a proper backstory to make him compelling.

Neither of them broke Ichigo down nearly as much as Tsukishima and Ginjo

Aizen is so iconic that he even transends bleach for how good of a villian he is.

Yhwach. He is a suffering God born into a never-ending torture. He either remains a blind, deaf, mute baby unable to move or fragment his soul onto other people, giving them power and hope while growing that power. He then takes it back stronger when they die but he receives the pain and suffering those people went through in lives. He is in constant fear of regressing and constant agony of receiving the pain of others. Hes a villain born out of fear and agony. Not only that, he saw his father be butchered and felt as if he also turned his back on him and his people (the quincy). And what's even more tragic is that he ended up just like his father. Trying to end a broken system just to be the lynchpin of that system. Aizen on the other hand is a blind fool. Blinded by his ego and the idea of being above it all. He doesnt realize that to be a god is to be trapped, burdened and lose your individuality. And he doesnt even realize that reaching near godhood ended him up in a similar position, unable to move, speak and see. Just sitting on a throne of fools (or hanging) just like the SK and now Yhwach (the son of god), but he sits under ground. Where people venerate what the SK up above, they despise the one down below

Aizen is one of the most interesting villains in anime, with one of the best betrayal reveal, if not THE best.

Aizen was the enemy from within. The ultimate betrayal and a shock sleeper from within. Most people thought he was the most washed captain forever. Ywach is your standard overpowered conqueror with parental issues. Both cool looking and great lore but Aizen is one of a kind.

Aizen is one of the few villains in any anime that actually made me feel fear. He is beyond intelligent. Gotta give it to him. 😎🔥🔥🔥

Ywach, He actually did what he set out to do, Invade and destroy the SS, Invade the RP, Destroy Squad 0, Murk the SK, become the SK, merge the Wandenreich with the RP. He had cooler powers, better lore, better backstory, an amazing VA in both Sub and Dubs, tons of cool abilities l, integral to and making quincies be the final threat is literally awesome, also SK Ywach design is dripping with menacing aura. He would’ve won too if it wasn’t for plot. Easily the coolest villain in all of manga as a whole imo.

Aizen, dude had the entire gotei 13 in his pocket for centuries. Yhawach was an AMAZING plot twist. the guy inside Ichigo was technically evil the whole time, but Aizen was just straight evil, stupidly ruthless, and effective.

There so much to unpack with “better villain”. Does that mean who impacted the world more? Who raised the story in terms of quality in writing? Does that mean who has a more intimate relationship with the MC? If we’re going based on who is the icon of Bleach or who is synonymous with the medium it’d clearly be Aizen. If we go based on relationship to Ichigo, impact on the world, and accomplished more it’d be Yhwach

Aizen didn't accomplish a single thing except getting a bunch of hollows killed

Yhwach definitely caused more havoc and came the closest to succeeding. But when it comes to sheer impact, Aizen orchestrated, shook up, and changed things permanently within the series. Both are amazing villains but I’d say Aizen is rightfully legendary

Aizen is one of the greatest villains in anime/manga.

Because Yhwach only showed up near the end and had so much less screen time, it felt like what he did wasn't really earned. We saw Aizen all throughout his plan and journey to ultimate power. Yhwach just showed up and had magic "I win" button eyeballs
