I spent about 12 years in what was effectively a pit of despair. Treatment was difficult and terrifying, but it set me free. I never dreamed my life would be like it is now and I'm so grateful. Take the leap of faith.

Think of it like this: it’s hard not giving into the compulsions, but it’s harder when you give in and it amplifies your intrusive thoughts. It’s always going to be hard, but that doesn’t mean you should stop getting treatment

I set free after 5 years of pain every single day , every single hour . One basic concept to remember always is "never ever lose hope" .

My personal word of hope: it's been less than a month since i've started ERP on my own (i've started a psychological treatment too), and it's going better. I can notice quite the difference, and i've noticed it since the first 4-5 days (yes, my situation was pretty bad).

Thank you for the reminder. me and my bf are both going through the process of not falling into our OCD. Your videos are very helpful!

Started ERP in Feb 2024. My symptoms have improved but the daily anxiety is still frustrating. I know it’s working, but despise the constant anxiety. I am riding the wave of anxiety and welcoming it to stay, but it taking its toll on me

My 11 yr old son is struggling so much right now, and it is affecting our whole family. We are in the thick of it. I don't know how to best teach him how to overcome this... it feels like he isn't ready to fully take it on. How do I support with out overwhelming him, and help everyone else to stay afloat too?

Hi Nathan, thank you so much for making ocd videos. Currently i have been getting severe religious ocd attacks. I had been cutting off the dosage of SSRI's Paroxetine CR 12.5 because i was feeling much better not getting much ocd thoughts and feeling like i have been overcoming ocd . but actually it was not like i thought. again my ocd has came back with severe anxiety. its effecting my sleep also. til 4am i am unable to sleep..so i have again started to take full dose of paroxetine. when i try to do ERP it works only for few hours than again the same thoughts with severe anxiety...what should i do could you plz help me in this and also should i continue my antidepressants while doing ERP or not? plz suggest me.

How do I change my mindset? I realise that my mindset is what that stimulates my compulsions.

Can you please make a video of using Clonazepam or Benzos for OCD. They work very well. Can you please tell. If you have already made a video, please share the link. Thanks for all help. Great videos!

Hello, Nathan. Well... maybe I'm really ignorant for saying this, but Retroactive Jealousy OCD seems to be a more complex form of Pure O and harder to recover from... I've been reading tons of stuff, buying some books, etc... I'm suffering from this.

It literally is just getting worse. The exposures are making me so on edge that I’m constantly sick, on edge, and upset. I’m losing friends and trusted family members. It’s getting harder to pay my bills. It’s hard to just work. It’s just getting worse. When it is supposed to start working?????!!!!

Can you give me a realistic average time it takes someone to retrain your mind? I know everyone is different but I've had ocd and severe anxiety, separation anxiety since I was 7 and I'm almost 30 and just now trying to work on my problem. I know it won't be an overnight thing but will it take months or years?

OCD and Anxiety
It is so normal to be frustrated with OCD treatment! It is not easy or fun, and it seems even more risky and scary. However, it is important to remember that thousands of people have been set free from OCD with ERP combined with other resources, and you can be too.
Leave a word of hope for fellow OCDers in the comments!
