To the arg video watchers, which of these is the LEAST important to you in an arg video?

I'm interested in what elements actually make the video a good watch. Like if the arg had pretty much no puzzles and ciphers would it still be interesting? And same idea what if it wasn't scary would that make the video worse or would you not mind that much? Or what if it was all puzzles but no real storyline like a scavenger hunt?

Any answer explanations are very appreciated. TY!

To me, the story is THE most important part. Having good horror can certainly add to it, but having a good story can MORE than make up for bad horror in my eyes.

In my personal opinion I like all of these options. I’ve seen my fair share of arg’s and they all have a good story line and the puzzles/deep investigation but what sets your arg’s aside from everyone else’s is the ambiance. That aspect alone is the reason why I keep coming back to watch your content. It’s the reason why I will sit in my room for hours on end, watching and rewatching your videos. The way you sculpt the story and the puzzles are just alluring but the horror aspect of it makes it feel real in a way, I saw my first minecraft arg through you and it made me question the reality of the story and minecraft in itself for a while. That is how you set your arg’s apart from everyone else’s.

I'd say that the horror aspect isn't that important/necessary as long as the story is good. Personally, having a good and unique idea to base an arg off of is the best thing about args, but the puzzles/codes are really cool ways to explore said story and add to the thrill. Edit: Speaking of this, I need to know before I die if the random letters at the end of the April fools video could actually be deciphered or if I walked right into the joke 😭

To be honest, the story and puzzles are the most important, but the horror kinda goes hand in hand with the story. If there’s a mystery to be uncovered, there’s usually some suspense and fear of the unknown to it. While the horror itself isn’t the point, the atmosphere of the ARGs lends itself to the horror genre.

I would like psychological horror more, but story and cyphers are even more important

I loveee the arg videos to death, probably my favorite type of content on this channel. Personally I think the lore/story aspect is the best part, but I do agree with the person that pointed out the puzzles are what makes it an arg instead of just a regular video. The horror is always fun but it could certainly be a good story w/o it, especially when the story’s creative and interesting enough to not need it.

ARGs often contain horror, but ARGs as an art form are not exclusively horror to me. You can tell a fantastic story in an ARG format with no horror whatsoever.

All of it is necessary but the horror is the least important

i love how he posts this and then the next arg videos he does are peak because it focuses on the story itself and the mystery around it instead of just "scary entity in minecraft"

@LouieSnipe

personally, i enjoy all but the scariness of it really matters, an example of this is the two args in volving archive and the dms, i just love how it seems plausible-ish and the government might actually do thing like that

I really enjoy when the text on signs or on screen do help and the mini summeries of what was on screen highlighting the important parts. I've been listening while working so it's helpful when I can't be watching the screen

personally the scariness or horror aspect go well with the stories, and in a way can build each other up. the puzzles sometimes ruin the immersiveness for me because we go from "and then he found himself in a room" to "so I used a cipher decoder and it's another YouTube link."

I’m really glad the poll agrees with me for once whew 😪😪 for me, storyline + cyphers make the arg very interesting and compelling to watch, the scariness sometimes makes it more off putting then intriguing which could make someone paranoid or even avoid the video altogether, I think scare factor isn’t as important but suspense is… like building up to a major event while using codes and storytelling makes an arg waaaay more interesting!!! Music is also a very important thing, it sets the tone and pulls the viewers in. Food for thought😁

i believe that all of them are pretty important to create a well made arg, but as long has you have a good plot and puzzles, it’s great
